Site moved!

So, I’m sure a bunch of you probably noticed that I haven’t really posted anything here in quite a while. That’s because I’ve been in the process of transitioning everything over to a new domain name, hosted on my own server. You can find the new site at http://evokewonder.com/glassdreaming. Unless something really really breaks, that will be the new website that you should go to for your photo fix. I’ll still have this site up, at least for the foreseeable future, so if something doesn’t work there, drop me a comment on this post, and I’ll get it. Also, there are several new posts with pictures in them up tonight, so go check it out!

Winter, part 2

Here are some more shots of the winter wonderland I live in. (Only mild sarcasm implied)

1/320s, f/4.5, ISO-200

1/1250s, f/4.5, ISO-200

1/640s, f/6.3, ISO-200

Winter

I don’t really like winter a whole lot, but I will have to say that it makes for some pretty cool photo opportunities.

1/2500s, f/4.5, ISO-200

As much as I wish it were true, I have to admit that I didn’t actually get that awesome shot. It’s a composite of two separate images (both of the same subject, however, so that’s a little better); the first I spent a long time carefully composing to get the tree centered just right and the shadow just perfect. And then a bird flew by, and I thought, “Ooh, that would be amazing!” So I took the same picture with the bird, but the composition kinda sucked. So I cheated a little bit… I still think it’s a beautiful image, though.

These next two are as-is:

1/1600s, f/6.3, ISO-200

1/1250s, f/5.6, ISO-200

Portraits

I don’t often post pictures of other people on here (mainly because I have a hard time finding people willing to model for me), but I thought these came out really nicely:

1/60s, f/1.8, ISO-200 (shoe-mount flash bounced off the ceiling)

1/250s, f/3.5, ISO-200

1/200s, f/3.5, ISO-200

2s, f/3.5, ISO-400

More art

I think blue and white makes a nice color combination for a photo:

1/200s, f/1.8, ISO-400

1/200s, f/1.8, ISO-200

And these are some interesting formations that I found:

1/500s, f/4.0, ISO-200

1/500s, f/4.5, ISO-400

Shelburne Farms

Here are a few more pictures from Shelburne:

f/5.6, 1/100s, ISO-200

f/5.6, 1/125s, ISO-400

f/7.1, 1/100s, ISO-200

Wooden People

Here are a couple of pictures of some really interesting wood carvings they had at Shelburne Farms in Vermont:

f/4.5, 1/100s, ISO-400

f/7.1, 1/100s, ISO-400

Artwork

If I take a picture of art, is that art? What if I take a picture of a picture of art?

f/1.8, 1/50s, ISO-400

f/1.8, 1/60s, ISO-400

f/2.2, 1/60s, ISO-400

American Gobble-ic

Happy Thanksgiving!

f/13, 5s, ISO-200

(This required a fair amount of photoshopping to pull off. It’s kindof noticeable in the background, but I got tired of messing around with it.)

Lock and Key

I think these are neat.

f/4.5, 1/3s, ISO-200

f/4.5, 1/10s, ISO-200
